3rd Day at Olm

Today I spent the day playing outside with the kids, i contributed in organizing games and warm-up which consisted of stretching and running a couple of laps around the basketball courts. These students have a lot of energy after finishing their homework so my job is to make sure they get the right type of exercise to make sure your kids are healthy and fit. after running laps, i set up this game called knockout which consisted of two basketballs. each student has a chance to knock each others balls out of the hoop in order to win. the students love this game because its very competitive and it takes a lot of effort. students like when i come to the blacktop because i set up better games then the staff there in there opinion. i take that as an accomplishment being said that i set up better games than the staff but i don't take it as a competitive way because we are all a family here.

Second Day

today i was assigned to prepare snacks. We prepare a healthy meal everyday after homework session  ends. This gives a boost of energy before their physical activity outdoors and keeps the children going. Giving students heathy food shows that we care about our students health. we make sure our students eat healthy nutritional meals because they are playing until their parents pick them up.

First day at OLM

Today I was very nervous once I stepped on campus. I made sure that I had to be a very good role model and polite to the kids and staff. Mrs. Veracruz, my mentor, had assigned me to help the students out with their homework without giving them answers. It was pretty difficult trying  to explain because the students answer their questions without thinking. After helping students make sure they finish their work, I had to help another staff member, Ms. Marada, set up snacks. Today's snacks were pasta and water. The staff members have walkie talkies to call in each grades for snacks. We went through 2 pots if pasta. After serving, I sprayed the tables down and cleaned them. After finishing my job indoors. My mentor allowed me to go outside and help set up games with the students. I set up a couple game of basketball that the students love to play.
